My Path to True Wellness Through Yoga

Yoga is more than exercise – It’s a path to balance and inner peace. My Journey began in sports and fitness, but it truly transformed when I discovered traditional yoga at Shanthi Yogashram, Kerala.

A Fresh Vision of Wellbeing

I have always loved staying active, which led me to a career as a Spa and Recreation Manager. Working in the Maldives, I was fortunate to experience a wide range of wellness practices from around the world. One day, a guest from the UK shared her transformative experience learning yoga in Kerala. She spoke with such joy about a traditional yoga ashram and her teacher, Yogacharya Mohanji a 70-year-old Guru. She described his calm and graceful way of living, a story that stayed in my heart. To my surprise, that very ashram was close to my hometown.

Finding the Soul of Yoga

In 2018, I joined Santhi Yogashram,nestled in the serene hills of Hosana Mount, Pala. Until then, I saw yoga as a series of physical poses. But soon, I realized it’s a complete way of life. It’s not just about flexibility or movement – It’s about turning inward. It releases stress and brings deep relaxation. It cultivates mindfulness through breath meditation. It promotes inner peace and strengthens the connection between mind, body, and spirit.

Living the Art of Wellness

At the ashram, I learned that true wellness isn’t only about fitness, but about living with awareness, purpose, and peace. That shift changed my understanding of health and happiness. Today, yoga is woven into my daily life, keeping me strong, calm, and connected- both on and off the mat. I carry these lessons with me in every aspect of my work and life, embracing holistic wellness, mindfulness, and inner balance in every day.
